“The Temple of the Gods” encompasses representative spaces belonging to the “divine” world within classic Chinese architecture. These spaces are diverse in form and type, including six major categories: Buddhist temples, pagodas, grottoes, Lamaist temples, Taoist temples, and mosques, totaling thirty-eight classic architectural cases. It also extends to discuss sixteen related examples and fifteen important architectural issues.
