本書在述說著台灣古蹟長達數百年的故事，故事中所提到建築物有的消失了，也有的被指定為古蹟而保存下來，能保存的古蹟都值得好好珍惜，因為依佛教的講法，這些都是躲過劫數才能保存下來的建築。
This book tells the story of Taiwan’s historical sites over hundreds of years. Some of the buildings mentioned have disappeared, while others have been designated as historical sites and preserved. Those that have been preserved deserve to be cherished, because according to Buddhist teachings, these are buildings that have survived calamities.
