“Master Craftsmen’s Divine Skills” is a summary of the author’s twenty years of research on ancient Chinese architecture. The book, “Dwellings of All Beings,” includes 13 classic cases across 5 categories, all reflecting the needs of ordinary people’s lives, such as cities, residences, academies, gardens, and bridges. For each case, the author provides perspective color illustrations that best showcase the characteristics of each ancient building, along with real-life photographs and guided tours, leading readers into a time tunnel, even allowing them to “break through walls,” to appreciate the superb craftsmanship of ancient artisans and experience the stunning spatial beauty of each ancient building.

Following the classic case studies, other similar examples are introduced and compared; while the “Extended Topics” section uses concise text, detailed hand-drawn line drawings, and numerous photographs to summarize and organize the basic knowledge of appreciating ancient Chinese architecture. Finally, a glossary of common terms related to ancient Chinese architecture is included.
